The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effects of early remedial and special education services on academic achievement and social development using data from the first three phases of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development (SECCYD).

Post-doctoral support from the Judge Baker Children's Center to develop a research protocol using the first three phases of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development (SECCYD). Research examined the early childhood and child care predictors of early special education placement. Early childhood pilot program development was supported by Children's Hospital Boston and co-PI Gehan Roberts. An early educational intervention was developed, implemented and assessed for preschool aged children who were born at very low birthweight.
