I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University under the advisement of Dr. Robert Webster. In the MEDLab, my research focuses on steerable needles and variable stiffness robotics for surgical intervention. In addition to my engineering research, I am passionate about improving minority representation in STEM fields. I actively work towards improving the experience of women in STEM fields and recruit the next generation of scientists through my role on the steering committee of Women of the Vanderbilt Institute for Surgery and Engineering as well as my Associate Director role for the K-12 outreach organization, Project ENspire. Other research pursuits include the design of a novel 3D-printed knee brace and Bioprinting. In the future, I am interested in expanding my knowledge and expertise in medical device design, robotic-assisted surgery, and interdisciplinary research efforts.
