• Create strategies and initiatives that effectively support the recruitment and retention of the incoming Freshmen and Transfer student populations.• Collaborate with all major departments to design strategies and initiatives to support the recruitment and outreach for incoming students. • Devise strategies and initiatives that effectively support the recruitment and retention of a diverse and inclusive student body in a manner that complements the College’s culture, core values, and strategic goals.• Design and implement programming, and manage all aspects of the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior PUMP Mentoring Programs.• Collaborate with the University Scholarships and Financial Aid Office and Pamplin Business Center to develop renewable scholarships that are competitive with other institutions. • Work with Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and financial-aid programs, including social media, marketing and other emerging technologies that enhance yield with potential students and their families.• Lead, manage, and evaluate the Recruitment & Retention team and create an environment of mentoring and support. Create a multi-year result-based goal for Recruitment & Retention team to be measured and achieved for enrollment management reporting purposes.• Coordinate with Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs to develop and manage a recruiting and retention organizational staffing structure to effectively accomplish the College’s goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates unit staff. • Coordinate with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs to establish and implement short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.

•Works with the Dean and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs to analyze data and generate reports of the student population for internal and external entities•Responsible for achieving enrollment goals of the college as outlined in the Pamplin Strategic Plan•Actively manages enrollment growth as outlined in the Dean’s Strategic Plan•Responsible for the coordination and supervision of all diversity recruitment functions conducted within the Undergraduate Programs Office, engaging with prospective students throughout the entirety of the admission process•Oversees all development, fundraising, programming, and implementation of the Diversity Recruitment Strategy•Continues to manage and track the success of New Horizons Scholarship recipients through individual meetings and advising sessions•Facilitates monthly diversity and inclusion training workshops with New Horizons Scholarship recipients •Liaison with external consultants using new technology solutions to drive results•Interfaces with social media channels of the College to communicate with prospective students•Responsible for creating marketing promotional items, such as postcards, direct mailings, emails, webinars, etc. to targeted students•Serve as lead to the Track Retention & Graduation Rates Committee for the Undergraduate Programs Office to collect and analyze data, implement retention programs, and track the success of undergraduates•Serve as a member to the Scholarships Committee for the Undergraduate Programs Office to revamp and reallocate the Freshman Merit Scholarships to better yield targeted students to align with the College’s strategic priorities•Serve as a representative and liaison the Recruiter Roundtable Committee for the Undergraduate Admissions Office

• Partnered with University colleagues and other Departments to host prospective students at the high school and post-secondary levels to attract them to Virginia Tech and the Pamplin College of Business• Created a strategy to increase enrollment of underrepresented students by connecting them to faculty, alumni, and current students, and connecting them to potential employers• Planned and coordinated several events within the Diversity Recruitment Strategy including: the Diversity Breakfast, First Year Experience courses, Pamplin Undergraduate Mentoring Program workshops, and Yield Events• Secured 17 companies at various levels of sponsorship totaling up to $102,000, and established the New Horizons Scholarship for Incoming Underrepresented Freshmen• Reviewed scholarship applications and awarded up to $225K in scholarships to 10 incoming underrepresented freshmen beginning in the 2014-0215 academic year• Worked closely with the Director of Career Advancement and Employer Relations on Career Events, such as the Business Horizons Career Fairs and Company Days• Organized and presented numerous career and professional development workshops• Met with students individually to review resumes, prepare them for job interviews and career fairs, and provided career counseling
