I have the privilege of leading work on achieving a Just Transition to Net Zero, supporting national government, local government and the private and public sector to progress a fair and inclusive green transition for our local communities, local economies, public services and civil society. I drive a strategic initiatives and investment strategies to ensure no one and no place in the UK is left behind by transition to net zero. I joined the Young Foundation in 2019 to relaunch and then lead the Institute for Community Studies, Lord Michael Young’s original think and do tank, powered by the Young Foundation, focused on supporting government to develop more effective public and neighbourhood policy on key issues including reducing inequalities, strengthening community cohesion and participation, and building stronger inclusive local economies and more resilient integrated welfare systems at the local and regional level.I am an interdisciplinary academic and practitioner, focused on building and leading research, engagement and innovation partnerships that prioritise collaborative environmental, social and economic outcomes for people and places. I am the Principal Investigator for Understanding Community Capability for Net Zero Transition (funded by the Nuffield Foundation) and co-developer of the Climate Challenge Cup for Innovation. I am Co-Investigator for the National Civic Impact Accelerator.
