I am currently a graduate student at Furman University studying Community Engaged Medicine. I am writing my thesis on childhood food insecurity and academic achievement. I completed my bachelors degree at Utah State University. I studied Nutrition Science with a minor in Chemistry.I hope to become either an aerospace physician or a pediatric clinical geneticist one day. While being a physician is something I plan on doing, I hope that by the end of my career I can lead a large organization such as the CDC or NIH. I love the responsibility and opportunities that arise from leading.I am also a triathlete. I was a competitive swimmer growing up and through college, and have transitioned to triathlon since graduating. I compete in draft-legal racing (not the insane Ironman distances). I am passionate about science, sports (primarily any sport that doesn't involve a ball), leadership, service for others, and advocating for girls and women in science.Specialties: Laboratory techniques, leading small and large teams, creating inclusive work environments.
