As a graduate student in the Yongfeng Ai lab at the University of Saskatchewan, I am responsible for the management and execution of the design, implementation and analysis of my thesis research project on the "Preparation and Characterization of Pyrodextrins and Maltodextrins from Pea and Maize Starches." Through my meticulous efforts, my research progress has proceeded schedule resulting in the on time completion of the program.As part of my research lab responsibilities, support the overall lab group through my management of Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring their accuracy and clarity for easy use by all current and future group members.

As Research and Development Projects Lead at Grain Processing Corporation, I handled the communication and coordination of information between R&D, QC, sales, and plant operators resulting in the development of new product processing procedures and characterization methods that expanded the overall production capabilities of the plant. My management of six figure research and development projects lead to the commercialization of multiple new ingredients. Through the application of effective communication skills, I successfully lead systemic change for data management within the company and lead the transition from the old system to the new system. Applying my exceptional organizational skills I devised new methods of tracking and sharing data between individuals resulting in improved workflows and data sharing within and between departments.

As an Associate Research Chemist at Grain Processing Corporation, I was responsible for the development of new starch based ingredients for application in a variety of food and non-food products resulting in the commercialization of new commercially successful starch based ingredients. I designed, implemented, and scaled experimental procedures for novel products on the lab, pilot and production scales. I oversaw the optimization of existing starch production methods to improve process efficiency resulting in reduced processing times and chemical usage while maintaining product quality.A key aspect of my responsibilities was the analysis of data and summarization of results for research, production, and sales teams. I tailored communications of results and finding for individuals with varying degrees of technical knowledge ensuring understanding across all levels of expertise.

As an undergraduate researcher I was responsible for the management and execution of my undergraduate thesis research on the "Detection and Imaging of Alkali Metals via Micro-Liquid-Liquid Interface Probes and Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy" as well as assisted my graduate student mentor and completed experiments at their behest.
