Emily Olcott is a multi-disciplinary NYC artist, coach, teacher, and creative. As a teacher, she is currently teaching playwriting at the Chautauqua Institution to children in the Jamestown, NY community. As a coach, she recently completed BetterUp's Coaching Foundations Program and has been working as a coach for writers, actors, artists, and anyone in need of a creative reboot in their lives. Emily is also an actor, comedian, singer, writer, and director. As an actor, she’s performed new work around NYC at The Flea, Dramatists Guild, NYU, Columbia, Green Room 42, and The Tank. Her favorite recent credit is a workshop of James Harvey’s new musical Prime Day, directed by Ashley Brooke Monroe at 54 Below. As a comedian, she's performed at Joe’s Pub, Club Cumming, Littlefield, Union Hall, UCB, Caveat, and more. She is a musical improviser for Kiko Soirée’s show Dear Kiko at The Bell House. She was also a 2022 Resident at Ars Nova’s CAMP Residency, facilitated by Matt Gehring and Mahayla Laurence. Over nine months, she developed an audience-interactive comedy solo show directed by Sarah Blush, Live, Laugh, Love, Learn, and Let Go: A Healing Workshop. She is the director and choreographer of the Story Pirates National Tour, artistic direction by Lee Overtree, and is a frequent contributor to the Webby Award-Winning Story Pirates Podcast. She’s performed nationally as an actor and director with Story Pirates at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, Utah Symphony, and more. Emily directed Chet Siegel’s solo show My Dead Wedding at Ars Nova. She co-hosts the spirituality podcast Savior Complex with Kiko Soirée, available wherever you stream podcasts. A dedicated advocate for children’s creativity, Emily is a teaching artist, babysitter, and former volunteer with 826NYC’s writing program. Emily has also volunteered with CO/LAB, supporting actors with disabilities in theater education. As a sober artist, Emily has worked with Second Act, an organization that creates theater for and by people with substance abuse issues; she developed and directed a Zoom play entitled The Group Chat during the 2020 pandemic. Emily holds a BA in Theater from Northwestern University who loves long walks in Green-Wood Cemetery in her beloved neighborhood of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. @emilyolcott.
