The Resident Advisor (RA) position is different than any other. Most internships or jobs allow its workers to clock in and clock out at certain times. As a RA, you are on the clock 24/7. Currently, there are 66 residents in 33 rooms under my watch, it is impossible to know when you will be called into action and you must be ready for any and all situations. Building community, encouraging learning, promoting wellness, and advocating for inclusion through programs and open dialogues are primary goals for this position. The Facilities Operations and Development Department is what keeps OSU running. They run the maintenance and janitorial operations for over 100,000 students, faculty, and guests that visit each day. Working for the Assistant Director in Charge of Building Contract Services and Supply Chain, I help to develop processes, project schedules, and analyze data on numerous projects. I developed and implemented processes and procedures to monitor contracts for operations including a custodial contract with $8.9 million dollars that maintains 65% of OSU’s campus.I assisted in the development of new inspections process that brought custodial acceptance scores from 83% to 94%.I work on operational projects, such as the Zero Waste Initiative on campus that will save the university over $500,000 and thousands of tons of waste per year. Wendy's Quality Supply Chain Co-Op is the third-largest purchasing co-op in their industry. They work directly with the Wendy's quick-service restaurant. Collected savings data from bakery transitions and delivered in a quarterly analysis. Surveyed and collected data from 16 Distribution Centers to identify trends in the claims of damaged product. This helped buyers understand issues and work with suppliers to improve packaging integrity. Measured the validity of market for 2019 cheese commodity forecasts. Participated in commodity calls with suppliers and analyst teams.Identified, educated, promoted, and engaged the project management and purchasing teams through Microsoft Teams.Worked with fellow interns to identify $5.3 million in possible savings through 4 different innovations.Skills learned/enhanced: Data Analysis, Tableau, Power BI, Basic understanding of Commodity Risk Management

MediaSaturn is Europe's leading retailer in consumer electronics. Within a 5-week time constraint, our team of three researched consumer buying habits and other aspects of developing shop-in-shops needed for location expansions in over 800 grocery stores. We started by analyzing the current layout of MediaMarkt stores, reviewing competitors, and researching consumer needs. With this information, we were able to identify the most preferred locations within the grocery store, the layout and assortment of the shop-in-shop, and staffing services required. After developing the blueprints of the building, it was important to identify and design experience driven attractions for increased visits. On a daily basis, I received, kitted, delivered, and maintained inventory that supported 100 workers and $100 million budget every year. I created purchase orders for inventory from preferred suppliers that supported the maintenance division at OSU. Working in the FOD Stockroom, I ran analysis on over 1,200 stock parts that helped reduce total stocked parts by 25% and dropped stockroom costs from $85,000. Attending a university with thousands of students can be overwhelming. An abundance of students begin to feel more like a number and lose their individual identities. Office Assistants, not only greet each resident in the residence hall, but engage in conversations to promote emotional and social wellness. Office Assistants provide office tasks like resupplying and delivering personal care items, delivering packages, and promoting campus activities. With nearly 100 packages delivered daily, the ability to organize and delegate are necessary for customer satisfaction.Skills learned/enhanced: Customer Service, Teamwork, Management, Organization

During my short time at Directions, I helped with as many projects as I could to relieve the stress that comes with end of the year responsibilities. I would update their database, proof surveys/reports, or research new technology. During the summer, I would test and proof surveys and event plans prior to their launch. With multiple communities already built and new ones being established, I would moderate these groups and update their weekly content. Directly after graduation from high school, I worked as an intern for Great American Insurance. My responsibilities included testing the not yet released ClaimCenter website after the developers would update it. I evaluated the yearly budget to make sure that we were still on track with our beginning estimates. After taking piano lessons for over ten years, I wanted to spread my knowledge. I taught piano lessons around my community and neighboring school districts.
