I am currently a senior psychology major at the University of Colorado and I'm proudly a Wolves to Ram scholarship recipient funded through NIH. During my first year at CSU, I worked with Dr. Brad Connors and Dr. Crystal Gutierrez alongside the Integrated Suicide Treatment Team through CSU's Psychological Services Center, in addition to Dr. Paul Laybourn on "becoming a scientist". I was afforded the opportunity to design and conduct my own research experiment, which was the most rewarding experience of my life. I am currently a research assistant in the Neurocognitive Measurement lab, where I am being trained in R-coding, TMS tech, psychometrics, and fMRI analysis. The Neurocognitive Measurement lab studies a multitude of brain disorders, but its emphasis is on research in schizophrenia. I plan to earn my Ph.D. and am eager to apply my love of research toward innovations in how we treat and categorize personality disorders and substance abuse disorders. My research interests include brain stimulation therapies and the exploration of potential treatments in psychopathy and personality disorders, which I strongly believe deserve greater attention in the field of neurocognitive research.
