I am currently in the final semester of the BSN program at the University of Iowa College of Nursing. I have several hours of clinical experience in adult medical surgical GI/vascular, geriatrics, mental health, and pediatrics. I am completing my senior preceptorship on Level-10 of the Stead Family Children's Hospital of the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. The patient population entails primarily pulmonology and cardiology cases. I have four years of experience as a nursing assistant in an assisted living facility and also a same-day surgery clinic. Through these experiences, I have learned so much about myself and where my heart is within the healthcare world. I have found that caring for children is not only about the nursing aspect, but rather enhancing the child's hope and joy during their current circumstances.
