About Emily Rees
I am an historian of twentieth century Britain, with a focus on histories of technology andindustry, and how these intersect with visual culture and gender, with wide-ranging experience in using interdisciplinary methods, archival research, teaching, and outreach events for diverse audiences. I am interested in historical research that locates untold histories of marginalised actors, challenging conventional narratives, and work with approaches that embed outreach practices for audience engagement beyond the academic setting. Since completing my PhD, I have mostly worked on projects with strong outreach elements, designed in partnership with external partners, including museums and institutions.
