Emily is a Manager with Deloitte, Vancouver, with experience in both FS and industry, providing advisory services within a range of risk subject areas.  She has worked on large scale regulatory transformation and assessment programs in Ireland, Canada and the US.She has experience with regulatory compliance and transformation, both from a consulting aspect and with industry, including controls design and testing, data privacy & GDPR, solution implementation, and risk function assessment.Projects Supported:   - Implementation of a CoE model for a US Bank, involving first the assessment of the current control environment within the 1LOD, the designing any additional required controls, and the testing of both existing and new controls through design and operating effectiveness.- Assessment of the Risk Management Function of both a large Canadian and international bank, and its subsidiary, in alignment with OSFI Guidelines, benchmarking against industry best practices in governance, culture, organizational structure, etc. - Analysis of the digital controls environment for a large industry client, assessing potential efficiencies, assessing the impact of new systems on their SOX controls as they go through a system transformation.

Collaborated with several teams on the management, introduction and implementation of many tools, including a Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), documenting all processing of personal data throughout the company and assets.Created a data flow of all employee information through the company, including departments, applications, storage, retention, and security. This also led to the streamlining of processing in many areas. Worked with Data Partners, customers, and vendors through their Due Diligence prior to contracting and onboarding. Dealt with contacts in each organization to work on remediation plans where necessary, as well as their annual reassessment.Created training and awareness programs rolled out company-wide, tailored to each department and cross-functional partner, using the understanding of the functions and how they operate to build these customized plans.

While working working with Deloitte's Data Privacy team, Emily has been exposed to a wide range of projects. These include: Consulted for a large operation redesign project developing a major international bank's Data Processing Landscape. The role included strategy definition, solution implementation, stakeholder management collaborating with 24 global divisions, and data analysis, working to ensure the quality of the data collected.Managed the implementation of a large-scale Record of Processing Activities and Asset Registry for a global insurance company, including planning, execution, reporting, and review.Performed risk analysis for a large Irish Bank, monitoring compliance, and providing support to the different business areas. This included performing analysis and reporting on large data sets of risks and breaches in line with regulations. Reviewed and updated the bank's policies, procedures, and policy standards, and where necessary, reengineered some processes.Was a member of the technical assurance team, where the role consisted of performing analysis of organization’s complex IT environments. Worked with a variety of technology systems from bespoke applications to generic IT infrastructure solutions, supporting the financial audit teams in giving reliance regarding our client's IT control environments in place.Portfolio included a number of high-profile clients, state bodies, global and Irish financial institutions, insurance and health companies, and international technology and retail companies.
