Serving as a Teaching Assistant for “Introduction to Agrifood Systems (AGRI-1600)” at the University of Manitoba. Duties including, educating students during the lab portions of the course, marking student work, assisting and guiding students when necessary, and collaborating with other teaching assistants for the course are actively being practiced.

Paid position for seasonal work between late April and early September at the Brandon Research and Development Centre within the Pathology department.Field Work:•Identifying pulse crop diseases•Collecting and preparing field samples•Surveying producer fields (peas, dry beans, soy beans, canola)•Seeding, maintaining, and collecting data from experimental plots•Determining overall health of crop samples•Inputting/organizing research data•Organizing the 2022 Manitoba Field Pea Disease Survey and the 2022 Manitoba Dry Bean Survey (contacting producers, handling and distributing field and producer information)Lab Work:•Preparing plant/soil samples for molecular analysis •Inputting/organizing research data•Extracting and isolating DNA from plant/soil samples•Conducting polymerase chain reactions from samples to determine organism presence•Plating plant/soil samples to identify organism presence •Creating labels for short-term and long-term shortage of samples and stock

Being a member of the Westman 4-H Poultry Club, poultry has been obtained which is hatched, raised, cared for, and subsequently breed resulting in a wide variety of stock and a large enough basis to begin breeding for both exhibition and the sale of hatching eggs, chicks, juvenile birds, and mature birds.
