School Counselor - J.J. Flynn Elementary
Current- Develops and maintains a comprehensive school counseling program focused on the needs of students through school counseling curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support.- Consults with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students.- Prioritizes creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all students, families, and staff through the use of inclusive language, translation services, visuals, curriculum, and professional development opportunities.- Assists in making recommendations for school curriculum and instructional practices; acts as an integral member of the educational support team (EST).- Responds to crises and provides immediate support (suicide ideation, dysregulated behaviors, death/illness of a family member, etc).- Participates in ongoing professional development. - Provides classroom guidance to grades K-5 on a 5-week rotating schedule.- Provides short-term individual and small group counseling as clinically indicated.
