Running the teams creating the core of the Kaluza billing platform, creating account balances / statements and amazing payment journeys, for multiple international retailers on the Kaluza platform.

I have worked with a number of teams at OVO, starting with 3 of the internal platform teams and then moving on to a mixture of backend and full stack teams building complex scalable solutions and great customer experiences. More recently I have been working on OVO's international growth, creating lean products for new markets in Europe and helping to build out these new companies and teams. This has involved everything from scoping of new products to creating processes for customer service.I am also involved in growing the tech culture across engineering as the company scales, with creating and managing our interviewing pipeline, thinking about meaningful career development across tech and organising events and meetups to keep the tech culture alive.

During my time in leadership at Bloomberg, I ran 2 different teams building a mixture of front-end and back-end solutions. I remained a member of the team, in terms of deliverying software, while also looking at helping to build the roadmap for the product and connecting with other engineering teams at the company. I was involved in hiring for both teams, and also at setting up the first London group for a department historically run out of New York. This involved building a team from scratch and learning and developing a system which had not previous had dedicated engineering resource.

I joined the Treasury Risk Management team in Bloomberg when it was created in 2014. This means I have worked on every part of this system as it was built from the ground up, from gathering requirements to business to integration testing with different areas of the system. I was also involved in this team's move to Agile and was Scrum Master for a year while we brought a new web product to our code base.

This internship in my second year was a challenging and rewarding experience. I joined the training and development team for 12 weeks and worked on a variety of projects in that time, including improving existing tools and functions and working on brand new features. This involved working on every stage from research and design through to development and testing, both individually and in a team setting. I gained skills in Python, C++, JavaScript and XML, which I was able to apply upon returning to my degree

I had this internship in my first year of my degree and found it extremely beneficial to my understanding of computer science and the workplace. I worked on 7 different projects that required the use of C, Python and PHP in both individual and group code development. This also improved my team work skills through communication with other employees. I worked on multi-threaded testing tools for live data streams in Python and C, as well as a website to track the ownership of electronic equipment in the office.
