Engaged with staff, board and government funders to improve financial management.Food Bank for New York City (Sep-Dec 2014) Interim Chief Financial Officer for the Food Bank For New York City which seeks to end food poverty and distributes over 70 million pounds of food annually.

Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. Oversee Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate/Facilities, and Information Technology for $50 million agency providing services for victims of crime and domestic abuse. Among Safe Horizon’s programs are adult and youth shelters, legal services, NYC’s 24 hour Domestic Violence Hotline, a licensed mental health clinic, and court-based programs that provide crisis intervention counseling and guidance through court processes. Safe Horizon has 575 staff members at 50 sites throughout NYC. Strategic thinker, team-builder: Recruited new leaders and re-energized staff. Built a strong team with a reputation for effective service delivery. Active with research/evaluation team in developing agency strategic plan to align programmatic goals with funding targets and milestones. Developed multi-million dollar capital funding proposals, negotiated terms to optimize cash flow. Improved financial performance: strengthened working capital, cash management, improved credit rating, received excellent audit feedback. Achieved dramatic overhaul of Information Technology into a strong business partner awarded a $750,000 capital grant.
