The Engineer's Ball is an annual event hosted by the Virginia Tech Student Engineers' Council to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of VT's undergraduate engineering students. The ball operates at a budget of around $40,000 and hosts around 850 students. As E-Ball Chair, I oversee a committee of three undergraduate students that I meet with weekly to delegate tasks and track progress on the completion of the event. As a team, we maintain communication with vendors and students while working with our publicity committee to advertise and develop a successful event.

As a member of the First-Year Experience Committee, I attended weekly meetings with my fellow members and chair to discuss several events we could host to engage freshmen engineering students in the College of Engineering. We worked with design teams and other school organizations to make the new students feel welcome and educate them on all of the opportunities they have available to them at Virginia Tech.

The Virginia Tech College of Engineering's Dean's Team is a group of motivated, dedicated, and spirited Hokie engineering students that assist the College of Engineering in recruiting efforts. As a member of the Dean's team, I get to help high school students and their families will all of their pre-college questions, concerns, and jitters. I host and co-host information sessions, share my experiences on student panels, and provide one-on-one assistance, while informing prospective Hokie engineering students on all of the opportunities and resources available to them should they choose Virginia Tech.

As a construction intern at Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, I assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily office and field tasks on a local elementary school. I entered the project in the final phase of the HVAC, window, and door renovation, completing tasks such as schedule and event tracking, submittal reviews, quality checks, and safety reports. I have the opportunity to talk with subcontractors daily about the knowledge of their specific trades and what their plans are for the day, as well as other Whiting-Turner employees from several different offices about their expertise and specific roles in the company.

I was a part-time as a Student Baker at Virginia Tech's Southgate Bake Shop where I iced and decorated cakes that were then distributed to all dining halls on campus. In this position I had to coordinate with the Sous Chef and my student managers on what tasks needed to be accomplished according to bake shop deadlines.
