Hi I'm Emily! I am a second-year student pursuing my bachelor's degree in civil engineering at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. On campus, I am a part of the Student Engineers' Council, the College of Engineering's Dean's Team, the Society of Women in Engineering, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the professional STEM sorority, Alpha Omega Epsilon. Outside of school, I enjoy crafting just about anything, baking, playing sports, and enjoying the beach near my hometown of Berlin, Maryland. This summer, I had an amazing time interning with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company where I was able to gain experience in the construction industry by working closely with my project manager and superintendent to renovate a local elementary school. I am looking forward to finding future opportunities for me to explore the fields of civil engineering and project management.

Engineers' Ball ChairStudent Engineers' Council At Virginia Tech Apr 2024 - PresentBlacksburg, VaThe Engineer's Ball is an annual event hosted by the Virginia Tech Student Engineers' Council to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of VT's undergraduate engineering students. The ball operates at a budget of around $40,000 and hosts around 850 students. As E-Ball Chair, I oversee a committee of three undergraduate students that I meet with weekly to delegate tasks and track progress on the completion of the event. As a team, we maintain communication with vendors and students while working with our publicity committee to advertise and develop a successful event.
