Manage educational programming in the Bioethics Research Center (BRC) to help researchers become more effective and responsible professionals. These programs include the Professionalism and Integrity in Research Program (P.I. Program)/The Professional Skills for Researchers Coaching Program, The P.I. Program On-the-Road Workshop, and the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) course. Also involved in a project that aims to address a gap in training the biomedical research workforce by providing early-career investigators with the leadership and management skills to foster rigorous, responsible research and create supportive, inclusive research environments.

Amy Waterman, Phd, Principal Investigator

Involved in research studying the psychosocial aspects of kidney transplantation as a treatment option and, specifically, living donation. She assisted with designing patient health education, coordinated a statewide educational program and national conference, served as a kidney health educator, recruited study participants and conducted survey interviews and educational interventions.

Managed daily department operations including training and supervision of staff; responsible for management recruitment and selection; interpreting hospital policy and providing counseling on disciplinary matters; recommending and/or approving salary offers; handling OSHA reporting and workers’ compensation claims; acting as TPA liaison on insurance claims; conducting exit interviews; and coordinating and presenting orientations programs and special projects.

Responsible for recruitment and selection procedures of non-exempt office and light industrial personnel; handling unemployment insurance claims; compiling and maintaining employee records, job descriptions, and HR control logs; formulating company policies; interpreting policies to provide counseling on disciplinary matters and employee status changes. Member of Safety Committee.

One of three on the management team involved in the 1986 union contract negotiations. Selected manufacturing personnel; responded at the first state to union grievances; administered company policies, plant rules and regulations; administered insurance plans; investigated workers’ compensation claims and prepared reports for insurance carriers.
