I am currently writing my masters thesis on humanitarian resilience in oppressive settings with a specific focus towards womens rights in Afghanistan.My academic interests range around conflict, human rights, risk assessment, and the processes of authoritarianism, especially in the Middle East and Afghanistan. My strong points are my research and critical analytical skills. I enjoy interacting with people and tend to come up with creative solutions to solving problems. By being on the board of Utrecht University's conflict studies association I have improved on my communication, presentation, and leadership skills. As Communications Officer I have gained a bit of experience in the field of public relations. I have learned how to build relationships with various local and international organisations, work with WordPress, create attracting posts on social media, and organise academic events.I am half Dutch, half British and grew up in Switzerland. I had a multilingual upbringing and can currently speak five languages, three of which are my native tongue. Additionally, I have taken an intense six month course in standard modern and classical Arabic at UU.
