I was available to cover shifts at Alta View, Cottonwood, and LDS Hospitals in their PRN pool, which included shifts in recovery, same day surgery, and the operating rooms.Managed the receptionist desk for patient check in, which included: alerting the OR when their patient arrived, making sure patient beds were available on time, making sure patients were picked up on time, preparing gurneys for the OR, and answering phone calls.Assist the OR in picking up patients, beds, X-rays, and other miscellaneous items.Assist the circulating nurse in the OR with preps, positioning the patient on the OR table, opening sterile supplies, stocking the room with linens and supplies, and being on hand for any extra needed help.Assist the Surgeon and scrub tech. by scrubbing in to surgery and being an extra set of hands for retraction, suction, cutting suture, and passing equipment.I was trained specifically to work in the neurological, cardiovascular, and orthopedic departments of surgery.Managed the unit assistant/orderly group as the orderly coordinator which included: making up schedules, working extensively with Microsoft excel and word, making daily assignments, and assisting our nurse manager with the hiring and firing of employees.

Preformed ABO/Rh blood typing, neonate cord flood typing, fetal maternal hemorage screening, antibody screening, extended phenotyping, red blood cell crossmatches, and other blood componant compatibility tests for the patients at Intermountain Medical Center.Proper care and preparation of blood products including temperature monitoring of all products, proper thawing of plasma, and the disposal of expired units.
