I organized in Justice Reinvestment, working to increase Community United's connections with local churches around the Northside of Chicago with a focus on mass incarceration and community investment. I created spreadsheets and documents to track my work and collect data about the local churches, sent emails and made phone calls to local church leaders, and met with pastors one-on-one. I planned an event that brought together solicited church leaders to gauge the interest of the church community to engage actively with the issue of mass incarceration and justice reinvestment.

I attended a desk for four-hour periods several times a week in a student dormitory. Duties include signing guests in and out of the building, maintaining an organized work space, ensuring that paperwork is filled out completely by residents, upholding security and policy measures, and taking and transferring phone calls.

I collaborated with and advised North Park University students regarding their writing. Two-hour drop-in shifts are sat on a weekly basis in the Writing Center and over the course of one semester, I met with about fifteen individual students three times. I was responsible for analyzing students' papers meticulously, prioritizing the changes necessary to writing, ensuring that students understood writing prompts, advising students in a way that is encouraging and honest, and communicating regularly with other writing advisors and staff.

I supervised a kitchen crew of about eleven young adults that serves 300-500 guests and campers weekly. Common kitchen and food service duties are performed in addition to gathering equipment and food for transport to designated sites three times a day, coordinating schedules with supervisors in other departments at the camp, and providing support to the kitchen crew as a spiritual leader. The leadership is unique because the same kitchen staff lives and works together for at least two months, working hours that are mildly unorthodox, thus there is a need to run the kitchen efficiently while also maintaining a work environment that will keep the staff from burning out.
