About Emily Stoehr
I am currently the Program Specialist for the Office of Global Security and Travel at the United States Institute of Peace. In this role, I work closely with professionals in the peacebuilding and conflict resolution field to help prepare staff for overseas travel, hold medical and security training, and monitor the changing conditions of conflict zones around the world. I am a Master’s candidate at American University’s School of International Service. My expected graduation date is in December 2024 and I am studying to earn my degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution. Career Planning Peer Advisor
As a Career Planning Peer Advisor, I hold open office hours to help students of all backgrounds, ages, majors, and experiences create and craft resumes. I work closely with the APEX Career Planning department at the College of Wooster. In this role, I have also led the team of peer advisors in creating new projects and sharing feedback with our boss.

Additionally, I led a class session to teach the class about the peace tool of "reconciliation".

I worked at Houlihan's Restuarant as a host. I interact with servers, managers, and customers to provide an enjoyable dining experience. I work to balance the requests of all those whom I interact with, and this job has taught me time management, crisis management, and improved my ability to problem solve.

In my experience as an APEX Ambassador, I work with a group three other students, guided by two APEX staff advisors. APEX is a unique part of Wooster, which aims to assist students both in academic learning as well as career planning for the future. The APEX Ambassador program, which began in 2017, is a way for the assets of APEX to be spread to different student groups on campus. My role in this program is to give presentations to groups on campus, working with students to notify them of what kinds of expectations and requirements employers are often looking for.
