As a dedicated educator with a passion for supporting students with disabilities, I currently serve as a Teacher Consultant, where I promote the value of inclusivity and ensure students on IEPs thrive in the least restrictive environment. My role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to collect and analyze data, develop tailored interventions, and implement effective instructional strategies. I actively participate in Child Study Teams and contribute to the district's commitment to student achievement through data-driven decision-making.Previously, I was a Regional Autism Teacher at Cedar Springs Public Schools, leading a self-contained classroom for grades 2-5. I successfully implemented programs that fostered peer relationships and developed individualized, data-driven IEPs alongside functional behavior assessments and positive behavior support plans. My commitment to inclusive education extended beyond the classroom, as I collaborated with general education teachers and engaged with KentCAN to promote best practices throughout the school.With experience as a Fourth Grade Teacher, I designed lessons that accommodated diverse learners, demonstrating my commitment to professional growth and effective classroom management. I utilized data to guide instruction and foster meaningful relationships with students and parents alike.Beyond my classroom responsibilities, I have taken on various leadership roles, including serving as a PBIS Chair, CPI Trainer, and President of the Executive Board PTO. My engagement in initiatives like Special Olympics and the Ukeru Training further highlights my commitment to fostering inclusive environments and supporting students of all abilities.I am passionate about professional development and continuously seek opportunities to empower educators in implementing best practices for all students.
