I got bridged over from being a student to a fulltime employee of the National IT team.While working as an analyst, I have had the opportunity to join several teams:- The Social and Wellness Committee: I assisted in arranging and hosting events for co-workers to have fun.- The Quality Improvement Program: I graded analysts according to their following of procedures and provided coaching when a mark was not met. I participated in regular discussions about our existing procedures with the goal of making the job easier for all.- The SWAT Team: I joined a group of specialists who processes IT forms with accuracy and efficiency. Myself and other members were tagged in to cover for our senior analysts when they were busy.- The Coaching Team: I joined a team that developed the SharePoint site and used Microsoft 365 Online products to meet criteria set by stakeholders. I was the lead of this subteam for an acting position of two months.

During this term, I had the opportunity to work with national IT as part of a partnership between the national and local divisions.With national IT, I worked remotely as the initial point of contact with clients. This initial contact included asking clients for clarification, processing their requests within my job permissions, and assigning workloads to different teams according to the work required.Work was completed either through the initial processing of the ticket, through the ticket monitoring system, or a chat tool.Work done included creating and modifying Mainframe and Active Directory permissions, virtually troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and running Macros.

I returned for another Co-op term with the Government of Canada. During this work period, I assisted the clients and collaborated with the local IT team remotely. I later transitioned to be partially in the office to provide on-site support as needed. During this work period, I assisted clients on a case-by-case basis. This included prioritizing work based off of severity of an incidence and how long ago the case came in. Work done included troubleshooting hardware issues, answering technology questions over email, setting up new hardware received based off of the standards for the organization, and managing client permissions to shared mailboxes and folders.

As a student ambassador, I helped promote the government agency I worked for. This included attending career fairs, advertising the benefits of the government agency to peers, answering questions about the agency, researching into current hiring trends, presenting in front of classes on career opportunities, preparing papers to be handed up to Human Resources to encourage any needed changes.

As a student IT analyst, work was completed on a case-by-case basis. I assisted the local IT staff with cases that came up. The cases ranged from assisting clients with hardware set-up, solving application and hardware issues, setting up new computers according to guidelines provided, managing client's permissions to folders and mailboxes,and answering any technology-related questions. All work completed was logged in its entirety in worklogs for easy reference.
