Our non-profit organization is comprised of senior independent living, an assisted living facility, and skilled nursing facility. I serve as part of a two-person Finance team. On a monthly basis, I submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance companies and prepare statements for our residents. Cash receipts, accounts receivable, and collections fall under my purview. I prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax filings with the federal and state government. I manage and reconcile general ledger accounts and work closely with the outside audit team to ensure the accuracy of financial statements. During 2015, I lead our team through a software migration from Hi-Tech Software to MatrixCare (MDI Achieve) for our clinical and financial applications. We're working towards an electronic medical record (EMR) and paperless environment.

As a Payroll Accountant, I was responsible for managing and reconciling multiple general ledger accounts related to payroll expenses and liabilities. C&S has over 20,000 employees in states across the country and I enforced wage garnishments for the entire company. I facilitated the transition of garnishment remittances from paper checks to EDI/ACH submission. My team was responsible for accurate and timely distribution of W2s and providing corrections as necessary.
