I am interested in expanding my professional horizons by seeking new challenges such as an opportunity to work in health and human development field. My interests and career goals include accessing the health status and wellness habits of individuals in order accurately educate and encourage healthier lifestyles. I am currently a senior in the school of Health and Human Development, where I am majoring in Kinesiology: Movement Science. In my nearly four years at Penn State I have learned a great deal about health, wellness, and the human body through various Kinesiology and science related courses. I am interning at the Village at Penn State, a retirement center for active older adults, under the Fitness Coordinator. By the end this spring semester I will have gained two-hundred and forty hours of experience assisting in group fitness classes, aqua aerobics classes and personal training sessions. Using my knowledge in the field of Kinesiology, along with my interpersonal skills I am able to help the older adults stay active and improve their health. These experiences have allowed me to apply my knowledge in the field of health and wellness and gain organization and management skills. I believe that if I were given the opportunity to work in the field of Kinesiology, I would continue to learn and gain new skills in order to provide patients and clients with the tools they need to lead a happier and healthy life.
