Software Group is a global technology company specialized in digitalization and integration solutions for financial service providers. It currently serves a worldwide client base in more than 70 countries from 9 regional offices. As the Regional Marketing Manager for Africa and the Middle East, I am charged with developing the regional marketing plan and budget for Africa and Middle East as well as providing an end-end management and execution of marketing projects and campaigns. I also support to drive the commercial launch of products and solutions while managing internal and external stakeholders. I plan and coordinate company, partner-led and third-party events, coordinating with third party suppliers and managing event logistics. I use CRM to upload leads, collect and analyse results from events. My role also includes regular market and competitive research to ensure the company stays on top of market trends and dynamics, and provide regular insights. I work with the sales and product teams to develop marketing materials including press releases, PPTs, internal announcements, customer success stories, digital campaigns, social media posts, articles, email campaigns etc. I also support our management in thought leadership initiatives- sourcing relevant information, developing opinion pieces and supporting them during media interviews. I own branding activities that include internal branding, marketing materials development and production including brochures, banners, adverts, booth branding, giveaways etc.

My role included: planning, developing and implementing communication strategies; liaising with the retained PR, digital and advertising agencies to develop effective PR, digital and advertising campaigns and supporting material; media relations; content development for print, in house publications, online platforms supplements/advertorials, case studies, speeches, awards, articles and annual reports; digital PR such as maintaining and updating information on the organization's website and content development of digital social media platforms; supporting group subsidiaries (Uganda, Rwanda, DRC, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan) and business in planning and execution of communication activities; event management including press conferences, investor briefings, AGMs, press tours and other forums. In addition, I was involved in raising the Group's Banking and non Banking profile in Kenya and its subsidiaries to internal, local, regional and international stakeholders; conducting continuous research to establish the relevance and impact of the current brands for the bank's projects; budgeting; stakeholder engagement; research and media monitoring. I also oversaw the work of the PR team.

I developed strategic communication counsel for my various client’s brand and was also involved in the day to day running of the accounts. My client portfolio included MetropolitanCannon, WELA programme, isuzu East Africa (General Motors East Africa), Liberty Life Assurance, Multi Agency Team (MAT), Deacons EA PLC, Stanlib Kenya, Stanlib Fahari I Reit and Communications Authority, MetropolitanCannon, Neurotech, KCB Foundation, Goodlife, Longhorn Publishers, St Pauls Properties, Consolidated Bank, Bosch, Elipse, CDSC, Pam Golding, Wadi Degla and WELA among others.

While at the Communications section, I managed both our internal and external communication and offered support to our subsidiaries in nine different countries. I was involved in budgeting, day to day media management, website management, content development, stakeholder engagement, social media management, production of BTL and ATL material for the company, production of the company’s bi-annual Bulletin Magazine, CSR, event management and media planning. I also managed our company run stations and worked as a Marketing Analyst in the Marketing section
