As a Committee Liaison, I am responsible for facilitating weekly meetings to ensure that the committee's goals are met. I work in a small team of 4 to train the upper-class leaders who will then train the freshman students to use the InVenTs studio tools which include laser cutters, tabletop CNCs, soldering irons, and an assortment of power tools. I am also responsible for maintaining the studio's project book that contains project ideas and how to complete them. As a team, we must communicate our committee's progress to both the other committees' leaders, and the CEED staff.

As a mentor to the freshmen engineering students in the living-learning community called Galipatia, my role was to help ease the transition from high school to college by holding 10 weekly meetings with a small group of freshman engineers. I also acted as a grader for the Galipatia course all the freshmen in the program are required to take.

As a studio design committee member, I was responsible for working as a team to plan and run events to challenge freshman engineering students to use tools and work together. We had to communicate our progress to the committee liaisons during the planning process and after the events.

During this summer research position, I was working in a lab that was trying to develop a new diagnostic process for vocal fold pathologies. I was responsible for creating a simulated model of the vocal folds and the surrounding tissues. I used ANSYS's High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) to create a simulation with materials that had electrical properties representative of human tissue and the geometry of the human vocal folds region. This simulation will be used so the lab can determine how the diagnostic process will act when the test is running.This research was represented at the 2021 BMES Conference.

I worked in the studio maker space in Lee Hall on Virginia Tech's campus. I helped students to create any project they wanted by helping them to design their project and use the equipment. This included training students on some of the tools in the lab.

I worked as a ride operator at Busch Gardens Williamsburg during summer. While working there, my job was to control the ride, monitor guest safety, answer guests' questions, and helping to keep the park clean.
