I have always had an inquisitive mind; how was this made? how was this built? were questions that always got my Dad scratching his head. Let me think about it he’d say…Well, since Year 7 I have had to work the answers out myself as Dad’s business background could shed no light on the questions I was forever asking!I had to look towards YouTube and family friends that had direct involvement with engineering to find out more about the intricacies of how parts work and how machines were put together, and buildings were constructed.Give me sheets of plain paper and a pencil and I was happy for hours drawing my versions of robotics, vehicles and building structures. People with property experience would comment that my plan drawings were as good as, if not better than, the schematics they had been presented by professionals. Now I understand that they were only joking, but their comments gave me inspiration.But now is the time to decide on my future; the paper and pencils will progress to University with lectures, theory, and practice.Exciting times for sure. Time to put my pencil dreams into reality.People may ask if my qualifications are relevant to engineering. I am taking A-Levels in Business, Chemistry and Biology and personally see an overlap in all three subjects to engineering technologies and their professional disciplines.
