I completed an eight-month co-operative job placement in BD RCI, 2021. I contributed to diverse design projects within the fields of human factors, industrial design, and user experience. Collaborated with international teams on both industrial design and UX initiatives, gained valuable practical experience that deepened my understanding of the critical role of human factors in improving product usability and safety.BD Biosciences, Member of BDB system’s verification and validation team.Main role was to apply human factors principles to the FACSuite software of a flow cytometer, I found myself bridging the gap between the user, the software development team and key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:• Conducted comprehensive internal user research, including interviews and usability testing, to discern user needs and preferences.• Developed interactive prototypes using industry-standard design tools, effectively validating and presenting design concepts to stakeholders.• Utilized prototypes as crucial communication aids during discussions, garnering support for design decisions.• Collaborated closely with stakeholders, including product managers and developers, to gather requirements and align design efforts with project objectives.BD Interventional, Core Member of the UX Team.I was heavily involved in the development of the MMVAB Breast Biopsy device, with a specific focus on human factors.Key Responsibilities:• Assisted senior Human Factors Engineers in conducting user research and testing, ensuring a thorough understanding of user needs, pain points, and preferences. • Analysed data from user research to identify key insights, which guided the development of user-centric design recommendations based on human factors principles and industry best practices. • Gained hands-on experience throughout the entire development process, from initial concept to the working alpha prototype.
