The Practice Nurse is primarily responsible for maintaining all clinical areas of the Practice to a high standard and for the provision of nursing services and care. • MSD provide various programs as a service to medicine, the delivery of which has enabled me to develop knowledge of autoimmune diseases within both clinical and business environments. The programs include;
• Simply For Me: Introducing patients to the medication and familiarising them with the administration device. Holistic patient assessment is paramount when providing this personalised education to patients and carers.
• Infusion Service: Working with NHS teams in clinical settings to administer biologic medications.
• Education Program: Aimed at Health Care Professionals, usually a presentation to explain theoretical and clinical principles of biologic therapy.
• Infusion Service Review: Observing NHS clinics, collating data and presenting the findings. One then facilitates a meeting to encourage members of that team to discuss issues and realise potential solutions resulting.
