This role involves working with Key Stage 3-5 Students across the three science disciplines. Using visual presentations, posters and creative activities, I engage and motivate students to excel across science topics they find challenging. I am able to adapt and amend teaching styles to suit the students, maximising enthusiasm and interest in the topic. I have a strong focus on responding to student feedback and regularly encourage them to share their thoughts on how they found the lesson.

My ability to work as a reflective practitioner has been improved this year, using critical classroom events, that have informed my approaches to a wide range of classroom situations.Research-informed practice is evidenced in all my lessons, utilising concise explanations and vigorous modelling techniques, to gradually increase student participation, while removing teacher scaffolds. This promotes independence and pupil mastery.During the Spring Term, I have held a strong focus towards developing my formative assessment techniques, ensuring a high participation ratio that accurately inform adaptive classroom practice.This role demands resilience, quick decision-making and strong organisation. Between finishing my undergraduate degree, and starting my Master’s next year, I have sought hands-on conservation experience. This role within The Environment Trust involves supervising teams of volunteers working on practical conservation projects in and around SW London. Projects vary from litter-picking, removal of invasive species, creation of green space and educational outreach. I’m excited to learn about conservation planning and leadership during my time in this role!

This also includes answering questions about the Biomedical and Life Sciences Department and the University as a whole. This may also require department tours and laboratory demonstrations.
