Practice and promote Applied Behavior Analysis. Defined, it is a scientific approach for discovering environmental variables that reliably influence socially significant behavior and for developing a technology of behavior change that is practical and applicable. In a nutshell ABA is understanding and modifying behavior in the context of the client’s environment. Behavior refers to all kinds of actions and skills (not just maladaptive or problem behaviors). Environment includes all sorts of physical and social events that might change or be changed by one’s behavior. ABA is an evidence-based applied science.I am currently contracted by a local school district to provide recommendations and strategies.
