  • Episcopal Diocese Of California
    Delegate To Diocal Convention
Episcopal Diocese Of California Jan 2015 - Apr 2020
    Grace Cathedral, San Francisco
Thanks to all who supported Resolution 6, "Climate Change, Carbon Fee and Dividend" at the convention October 27-28, 2017. The Resolution passed and will be carried to National Convention in 2018. Carbon Fee and Dividend legislation puts a fee on the amount of carbon dioxide in fossil fuels. This fee is assessed at the source of the fuel: at the mine, well, or port of entry. The fee starts out low and increases annually in a predictable manner until we reach a safe level of emissions. The fee is collected exclusively at the first point of sale, and 100 percent of the revenues are reimbursed directly to all American households (minus administrative costs), shielding them from the financial impact of the transition to a clean energy economy. Please see the text of the resolution, explanation and end notes on the DioCal web site. Additional FAQ and explanation of how the dividend will work is attached. Please contact me at emilyhopkins4@gmail.com if you have additional questions or comments, or via the DioCal web site. Thank you
