Pediatric Outpatient Rehabilitation 12-week Clinical Experience, Allen, Texas· Effectively examines, evaluates, develops appropriate plans of care and goals for, and administers physical therapy treatment to patients with diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, torticollis, and various rare genetic disorders· Administers and scores pediatric standardized assessments during initial evaluations and re- evaluations: BOT-2, PDMS-2, GMFM, PDMS-3· Create and presented in-service PowerPoint presentation to two clinics’ staff, outlining differences in the updated PDMS-3 standardized assessment, intended to serve as a resource for current and future students and physical therapists· Designs and develops educational handouts for patients’ parents outlining general exercises based on their child’s physical impairment and/or PT goals that can easily be done at home

Inpatient Rehabilitation 8-week Clinical Experience, Dallas, Texas· Advocates to promote highest level of independence for patients from different backgrounds: those experiencing homelessness, individuals below federal poverty threshold, burn victims, and non-native English speaking individuals.· Holds daily treatment sessions using intermediate level Spanish proficiency skills to educate and treat non-native English-speaking patients.· Participates in weekly multi-disciplinary team conferences to provide recommendations to improve patient function and independence to enable safe discharge. · Implements clinical motivational interviewing skills to formulate solutions for patients with complex medical and social histories.· Evaluates and treats a wide range of diagnoses including respiratory, neurological, and multi-pathology patients.· Effectively provides instruction, guidance, and support to patients and their support system· NICU / pediatric pelvic floor experience for 2 days with observations of children with diagnoses such asNarcotic Abstinence Syndrome, Necrotizing enterocolitis, intraventricular hemorrhage, and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia

Outpatient Pelvic Floor & Orthopedic 8-week Clinical Experience, Addison, Texas· Evaluated and treated a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and pelvic floor conditions including pelvic floor dysfunction, vaginismus, dyssynergia, vestibulodynia, bowel and bladder incontinence, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, pelvic organ prolapse, and diastasis recti· Deemed independent to perform internal vaginal and rectal assessments by clinical instructor· Educated patients and family on pregnancy, birth preparation, and postpartum care· Utilized yoga and mat pilates therapy movements, electrical stimulation, and manual therapytechniques including visceral mobilization· Created engaging content on social media and for physical therapist use for patient education

Outpatient Orthopedic 8-week Clinical Experience, Flower Mound, Texas· Evaluated and treated a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including Functional Movement Disorder (FMD), disc prolapse, spinal stenosis, arthritis, CRPS, and neuropathies· Created individualized plans of care to an average of 12 patients a day · Gained experience with Pilates and Barre, incorporating the movement-based exercises into patient treatment plans to help patients gain body awareness, strength, and balance· Deemed independent to evaluate and treat patients by end of week 1 and rated a 10 out of 10 for exceeding clinical expectations by clinical instructor· Educated patients and family members regarding diagnosis, injury prevention, and therapeutic treatments.

· Administered treatment in all phases of therapeutic exercises and functional training as directed by· licensed therapist· Aided in translating for Spanish-speaking patients and family with exercises· Directed walking program for 50 patients BID independently· Perform delegated part of treatment plan as directed and provide therapist with a description of treatment given and patient’s progress· Kept equipment and treatment area clean and follow infection control procedures

-Complete data entry (diets, demographics, etc.) for a variety of studies-Interpret and analyze DEXA scans, KIN-KOM analytics, and medical charts-Record data during study days-Assist with patient care and janitorial duties of the clinic-Prepped study day set ups: Labeling test tubes, Prepare nurse/study boxes and prepare test roomsThis lab takes on a wide-range of studies at a time, but ultimately we are seeking ways in which particular amino acids, supplements, or diet regimes effect quality of life for people with chronic illness. Our primary concern is the longevity of bariatric patients.
