I would take calls most of the day from elderly people asking for a handyman, or a befriender, help with shopping or legal advice- I'd redirect the calls if I wasn't equipped to handle the query.I really learnt to have patience- I'd often need to repeat myself, and be a lot louder- but I also learnt to empathise even more.

A normal day for me:Answering phones whilst greeting new workers whilst checking all legal documentation whilst making sure all paperwork was sorted whilst answering phones whilst responding to emails quickly whilst setting up interviews with colleagues whilst answering phones whilst answering any queries whilst adding paperwork to online database.

Thames Valley Science Park

Whilst the builders were doing the big work (Thames Valley Science Park) I would be tucked away in the on-site office doing the behind-the-scenes work.One interesting aspect would be setting up fingerprinting for new employees to gain access to the site- this could be very difficult as some builders don't have much in terms of fingerprints.
