Oversee day-to-day administration of the Masters of Science in Financial Mathematics program and operations, including facilitating the planning and execution of program initiatives, with a particular focus on managing career services, alumni engagement, and strategic employer partnerships. Lead the teams responsible for career services, student & faculty services, recruitment & marketing, and technology and serve as a senior member of the FinMath program leadership team. Act as a liaison between staff, students, and the Department of Mathematics, Physical Sciences Division Dean’s Office, University of Chicago Professional Education and other University of Chicago offices to optimize the program and resolve high-level issues. Build effective collaborative relationships with industry partners and employers. Partner with the FinMath leadership team to maintain excellence in program planning and execution. Oversee the functional areas including: data maintenance and reporting, staff management, career development, alumni development, employer partnerships, marketing and branding, and communications.

Drive new initiatives and oversee experiential programs designed to prepare students for successful careers in STEM. Manage program directors of multiple pre-professional programs, including, Careers in Engineering, Computer Science, Behavioral Science, Biological Sciences, and Physical Sciences.Work closely with senior leadership and campus partners, including academic departments and the development office, to advance strategic goals and engage alumni as volunteers and donors across STEM career programs. Oversee the expansion of external employer partnerships in STEM to develop new internship and full-time offerings for students.Career Advancement serves a student population of approximately 7,000 arts and sciences undergraduate students, in addition to alumni who have graduated within the last five years. Career Advancement offers innovative and comprehensive career development services with a focus on pre-professional preparation, experiential education, and opportunities. Through career advising, programs, and comprehensive resources, Career Advancement supports undergraduate students and alumni as they develop the skills necessary to manage their career development, while working with alumni and employers to provide students with meaningful opportunities.

Oversee all strategic planning and implementation for career support services for students and alumni of the Financial Mathematics Graduate Program. Serve as a member of the executive committee for admissions. A pioneer in its field, the FinMath Program offers 15 months of accelerated, integrated coursework exploring the deep-rooted relationship that exists between theoretical and applied mathematics and the ever-evolving world of finance. Oversee student advising services, employer programming and events, alumni engagement, and data analysis and reporting. Partner with other University departments to coordinate and expand resources available for FinMath students and alumni.

As a member of the senior leadership team, lead all HR operations for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) headquartered in Valparaiso, IN with five additional clinic sites (East Chicago, Michigan City, Knox, Mishawaka, and South Bend). Execute HR strategies in support of the overall business plan and expansion of the organization. Oversee succession planning, organizational and performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and staffing and recruitment.

Serve as the chief HR officer to the Dean of the Physical Sciences Division in support of 1,500 faculty, researchers, staff, and student employees. As a member of senior leadership, collaborate across the University to define and execute divisional and campus HR priorities and strategies, including the creation of a shared services HR organization. Oversee all human resources and faculty appointment processes within the division. Advise and work closely with the Dean on strategic communication efforts in support of student recruitment along with alumni and donor engagement. Counsel faculty, staff, researchers, and students on a variety of workplace issues with a focus on fostering an environment that supports quality of professional life.

Create and teach a variety of learning and professional development programming. Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for all staff and academic hiring within the library system. Advise management and staff on employee and labor relations issues. Provide consultation surrounding employment law, collective bargaining agreements, policies and procedures, effective performance management, and problem resolution. Serve on Library-wide committees and working groups to collaborate on initiatives that support the Library’s strategic plan. Attend national conferences and participate in organizations and interests groups promoting developments in human resource standards.

Design and teach training and professional development programs, including organizational leadership and staff management. Oversee recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and performance management. Participate on senior management teams and working groups involved with strategic planning and decision-making critical to organizational success.

Recruit and place contract engineers in a variety of Fortune 500 companies.
