A member of the Code of Practice Panel, adjudicating upon complaints made under the ABPI Code of Practice and contributing to the smooth running of the complaints procedure.

I led the Content Development team, responsible for delivering Medscape projects that involved a content development element and pharmaceutical company funding, published across the global Medscape Professional Network. Projects included digital and print projects for a UK primary care audience and working with global key opinion leaders on arm's-length-funded projects for a global secondary care audience.

Head of department and part of the senior management team, I managed a team of four medical editors and four project/account managers, having grown the department to reflect a growth in revenue and output. Working with the UK brand teams of all the major pharmaceutical companies and other smaller companies, we delivered projects aimed at a primary care audience ranging from printed supplements and cards, to live webinars, videos, and animations, and from individual projects to larger campaigns.• Responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management, development and delivery of MGP's range of high quality multimedia medical education projects for healthcare professionals• Ensuring compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and high editorial standards across all MGP projects, including providing training to all new starters• Overseeing work prioritisation and effective use of freelancers by the department• Liaison with pharmaceutical company clients, healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders when acting as the editorial lead on my own projects, or providing support to a less experienced or freelance editorial lead• Projects delivered by my team contributed approximately two-thirds of MGP's total revenueFollowing the acquisition of MGP by WebMD in May 2021, I worked closely with teams at WebMD to:• Move MGP across to WebMD's ERP system, Salesforce, from our own set of databases used to track revenue, projects, advertising space, etc.• Agree the portfolio of products that would be sold from early 2022 as part of a combined Medscape/MGP offering• Develop new Medscape products to integrate the content development element of MGP projects with existing Medscape digital delivery tactics• Develop processes to deliver this combined portfolio of products with other teams within WebMD• Integrate the project/account management side of the team into the WebMD Account Management team

Supported the chief executive, the executive leadership team and the board of trustees of this multi-academy trust in using and interpreting a range of educational and operational data.• Brought in the use of MS PowerBI and developed dashboards to present information to trustees and the leadership team• Developed key metrics to assess all areas of the organisation and the processes necessary to collect this data from 25 academies and two national team offices• Produced clearly written reports on, for example, the pupil outcomes of E-ACT’s 24 academies• Designed and analysed the results of a trust-wide staff satisfaction survey (2,600 employees, 40% response rate) and a survey sent to the parents of all 14,500 pupils• Developed the 2015/16 annual report to become more of a user-friendly celebratory report while conforming to the requirements set out by the Charity Commission

Working within the AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds communications team, I managed the portfolio of technical publications, communicating information from scientific projects to an audience of arable farmers.• Project managed at least 20 publications each year from commissioning to distribution• Line managed the Publications Assistant• Managed an annual budget of £150k• Developed, copy-edited and proofread guides, information sheets, posters and encyclopaedias: presenting technical information in the most suitable written format for a non-specialist audience• Copy-edited and proofread scientific reports from research projects• Managed relationships with a range of contractors, including researchers, designers and printersIn October 2014, my job title was changed (Publications and Evaluation Manager: Cereals & Oilseeds) to acknowledge additional responsibilities in the areas of evaluation and market research.• Worked with a market research company to deliver the annual satisfaction survey and other market research projects, including a large audience segmentation project• Analysed event evaluation data and produced reports for the senior management team• Implemented a new event evaluation process, including use of the Net Promoter ScoreI also took on management of the warehousing and fulfilment contract, managing the transfer to a new provider, and budget management for the stakeholder communications team, increasing my total budget to £670k.Following an organisational restructure in April 2016, I became Publications Manager working across all six AHDB sectors. I worked on establishing new processes to work within the new structure, which would lead to a common look and feel across all AHDB publications building on the brand identity already established by some of my earlier cross-sector collaborations.

Communicated levy-funded scientific research findings to the UK arable industry through copy-editing project reports and other publications, developing and managing R&D input into workshops and conferences and co-ordinating production of the Crop Oracle CD-ROM. I also attended a variety of conferences and academic meetings to report back the latest relevant research activities to the rest of the AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds R&D team.

Completed a three-year research project on genetic resistance to a fungal disease of oilseed rape. The project was funded through a BBSRC-CASE partnership with KWS UK Ltd (a plant breeding company) and involved a variety of techniques including field experiments, molecular biology and genetic mapping. I presented the project to a variety of audiences through poster presentations at international conferences, oral presentations to academics and industry and two peer-reviewed publications.

Designed and implemented physiological experiments and analysed biological data for an ongoing research project: Systemic signalling of environmental signals in Arabidopsis.

A 10-week research project based in the Plant Pathology & Microbiology department:Dynamics of phoma leaf spot (Leptosphaeria maculans) symptom expression and pathogen spread on different leaves of oilseed rape (Brassica napus) cultivars.

Tested wheat, barley and flour samples using analytical chemistry techniques including near-infrared spectroscopy, Dumas protein analysis and numerous 'wet chemistry' tests.
