-Provided treatment for pediatric patients receiving inpatient rehabilitation and/or pulmonary services due to a disorder, neurological injury, or illness resulting in speech, language, cognitive-communication deficits and/or dysphagia-Worked with pediatric patients in an intensive inpatient feeding program for children demonstrating difficulty eating and/or swallowing and provided a variety of treatment services including oral motor exercises, neuromuscular electric stimulation, use of compensatory strategies, and other feeding techniques-Reviewed medical records, collaborated with other professionals, conducted evaluations, developed/executed therapy plans, and wrote daily notes, care plans, progress notes, and conference notes for patients using EPIC software, as well as created home education plans for families prior to discharge -Observed videofluoroscopic swallowing studies-Completed a research project on tracheostomy, ventilation, and Passy-Muir valves and further their relation to feeding readiness and dysphagia and presented as an in-service to fellow professionals in the hospital-Spent one day in acute care treating PICU and NICU patients with trach/vent

I applied for and was granted a Research Assistantship position through the College of Education and The Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities at UGA. Through this assistantship I assisted Dr. Jennifer Brown, SLP, in her research on early communication skills in young children. I also created and presented an initial literature review of naturalistic communication progress monitoring assessments for young children at the 2015 College of Education Research Conference (February 13, 2015)
