Field Examiners work directly with employees, unions, and employers who have filed charges alleging unfair labor practices, as well as those that file representation petitions. Field Examiners are responsible for administering and enforcing the National Labor Relations Act.Elections: supervises representation elections, creates collaborative agreements between unions and employers regarding method of elections, conducts administrative hearings serving as the Hearing Officer, and oversees secret ballot elections. Principle Investigator of Unfair Labor Practices: preparing sworn affidavits, drafting investigative reports summarizing evidence, analyzing appropriate legal standards, negotiates settlements, and calculates appropriate back-pay in discharge cases.
