Journalist, fiction writer, and co-director of the Redbud Writing Project, North Carolina Research Triangle's only adult education writing school. In the past, I've worked in the nonprofit sector as a social media manager at the Jewish Women's Archive in Brookline, Mass., and as a reporter for the Boston Globe and at GateHouse Media in Boston.Besides my experience as a staff reporter, I've written articles and essays on a freelance basis for publications including The New York Times, the Guardian, the Assembly, Slate, NPR, the Financial Times, Atlas Obscura, Roads & Kingdoms, the Baffler, and Off Assignment, in countries such as Germany, England, Mexico, Iceland, and South Korea.I've also published more than 20 short stories in online and print venues.

I was also responsible for maintaining the Needham Times blog, uploading content to the website and promoting the newspaper using Facebook and Twitter. From 2012 to February 2013, I served as staff reporter for the Watertown TAB, covering police issues, small businesses, development and education in Watertown, Mass. I also contributed two articles per week to the Cambridge Chronicle, America's oldest weekly newspaper. I attended public meetings, requested governmental documents, and met with community members to produce articles about development, human interest, and education. From February 2013 through June 2013, I wrote six to eight articles per week for the Somerville Journal, a weekly newspaper covering politics, education, arts events, transportation issues and development in Somerville, Mass. I maintained relationships with local officials, including the mayor, attended public meetings, met with community members, and covered breaking news in this community. I promoted my work and kept in contact with the community using Twitter, Facebook and other new media tools. I also reported from Watertown during the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombing suspect in April 2013. -
