I teach writing classes focused on young adult fiction and romance, and consult with individual writers on craft and career goals.

Developmental, line, and copyeditor for aspiring, emerging, and successfully published novelists. Work with writers to strengthen their manuscripts, with an eye toward honing tone, plot, structure, character, setting, point of view, and story. Provide comprehensive feedback on manuscripts as well as edit letters summarizing feedback. Through my work as a book coach, I help authors troubleshoot story issues and career dilemmas. I also critique query letters and synopses.

I co-edited a young adult fiction anthology, WICKED SOUTH: SECRETS AND LIES, for Blue Crow, and also published an award-winning YA dystopian romantasy series with them, The Seven Sins.

This exciting project gave me the opportunity to compile survey data from arts education programs across the state into a single document, highlighting trends, accomplishments and challenges. In addition, I had the opportunity to visit several model programs, interview key staff, and feature them in the completed white paper.
