Based in the Lalvani laboratory which conducts community household contact studies that:- Investigate the transmission dynamics and protective immune responses to COVID-19 (ATACCC, INSTINCT)- Explore the natural immunity behind resistance to tuberculosis (TB, IMPAcTB)Roles:- Led 2 projects which identified protective and detrimental immune responses to TB and SARS-CoV-2 infection by analysing large, complex datasets using Bash and R- Led a project that identified and modelled the longitudinal immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 using R- Managed a 4-person team of technicians to create a clinical biobank of samples from 800+ COVID-19 study participants using Microsoft Excel- Co-authored on 7 high-impact scientific COVID-19 publications, including 3 which directly informed government policy on COVID-19 restrictions- Helped set up multiple clinical studies as part of a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional team- Contributed to the writing of multiple successful grant applications, totalling £6.5 million- Manager of BSL-3 laboratory which has 7 trained users- Public Engagement Lead for the Research Unit which has led the creation and delivery of diverse and inclusive events such as interactive workshops, digital information packs and webinars- Presented work both internally and externally, including at the British Society for Immunology Congress 2023- Supervised university students to successful completion of MSc projects
