Currently a member of the Institutional Giving Team at Advance NYC, Emily specializes in government and foundation fundraising, providing support with institutional prospecting, grant writing, submissions, grant calendar management, and more. During her time at Advance NYC, she has worked with more than 20 organizations, helping them achieve their institutional fundraising objectives and creating new systems to support them. Before joining Advance NYC, she worked as a Development Assistant at The Playwrights Realm and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), where she gained experience in all aspects of development, including but not limited to grants management, individual giving campaigns, gift processing, and special events. Emily holds a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University. Drawing on her theater background, Emily is a passionate advocate for the arts, believing in its power to build meaningful connections within communities and in the importance of a diverse artistic nonprofit landscape. Emily is also passionate about mental health, striving to foster empathy, understanding and support in both personal and professional realms. Outside work, Emily enjoys reading fantasy novels, playing board games, exploring the Catskills, and spending quality time with her two dogs, Lucy and Duke.
