Worked within the Strategic Planning and Analysis group. Tasks included:-researching institutional investor 10K reports and updating profiles-conducting chain of custody research on prospective land acquisitions-performing background research on similar timber REITs. In addition, I conducted two major independent research projects. The first of which was an event study analyzing impact to three timber REITs' stock return after their public announcement of a major timberland acquisition. The second project was a pre-commercial thinning study analyzing tree growth monitoring plot data for stands with and without treatment. Data analysis and management was done in Excel and Access using SQL. I then created an interactive financial model in Excel to analyze any potential premiums gained from the pre-commercial thinning investment under varying assumptions.

Research Assistant in the Oren Forest Ecology Lab at the Nicholas School of the Environment. Job duties included: -Collecting data for carbon and water cycle projects in Southeastern pine forests associated with the completion of the Duke Free-Air Carbon Enrichment (FACE) research site-Completing leaf litter analysis from the FACE experiment -Maintain and collect measurements from field sites in the Duke Forest dedicated to studying contrasting crown architectures of six different pine species

Under the supervision of Dr. Damian Adams, contributed to an economic valuation study of water quality in Florida. Collected and organized data on voter demographics and past referendums concerning land acquisition programs aimed at water quality enhancement. Used SPSS and Excel for data organization and regression analysis.
