I love people. No, really, I do! I believe people are the greatest asset to any company’s business. As an experienced leader, I know the importance of the human resources role for performance management, and employee engagement. These metrics together breed success.I have eight years of management experience where I led diverse teams, developed and coached talent, and inspired cross-team collaboration. I had great success achieving performance metrics, and found this work to be fulfilling. I wanted to take my career to a whole different level, so I became a lawyer. My first big leadership role was Restaurant Director at a hotel in downtown Seattle. I started from scratch, recruiting and training my team. Team cohesion was the driver of success, and led to the restaurant’s first ever award, with the largest outdoor patio in downtown Seattle, the happy hour experience grew popularity, and was awarded “Best Outdoor Drinking” 2011 from Seattle Weekly. My leadership skills grew exponentially with my time at Macy’s. It is where I gained a large amount of responsibility, and human resources experience. In my time there, I coached and mentored six aspiring employees to a supervisor or manager role, and three employees to a lateral best-fit position. I organized and led teams of 60+ people to conduct year-end inventory in multiple locations. I successfully managed a team of employees that had split membership between two unions in the same location, (that was an experience for the books!).
