Emily De Maria is a nonprofit leader with over 20 years of experience leading teams and developing and implementing impactful programs and services that address the needs and challenges of diverse communities. She is currently the Chief Programs Officer at the San Antonio Food Bank, where she oversees a diverse portfolio of programs and initiatives that serve over 100,000 individuals across Southwest Texas each week. Emily has more than a decade of experience working to address the important issue of food insecurity, having previously served as the Chief Program Officer at the Central Texas Food Bank, where she led program and policy initiatives and served on the Austin/Travis County Food Policy Board.Before joining the San Antonio Food Bank, Emily was the Executive Director of the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC), a nonprofit organization that provides guidance, education, and support to those affected by breast cancer. There, she led the strategic planning, fundraising, and operations of the organization, and increased its reach and visibility in the community. She also spent 10 years with United Way, where she spearheaded the Financial Stability Partnership, a national initiative that promoted economic inclusion and opportunity for low-income families.Emily is passionate about building strategic partnerships and innovative solutions that create positive change and measurable results on important social issues.Emily holds a Master's degree in Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Government from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently serves as a Commissioner on the Commission on Aging at the City of Austin, where she advocates for the well-being and empowerment of older adults.
