I am a junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying Food Science and Sustainable Food & Farming. I am also part of Commonwealth Honors College. I live in East Boston, Massachusetts and I graduated from Boston Latin Academy in June 2022. I have experience working with nonprofits and with children. For three consecutive summers, I worked with The Trustees of Reservations on several projects including stewardship work and community outreach. I worked with the YMCA as a Teen Supervisor and with For Kids Only as a camp counselor.Additionally, I interned with Food Rescue, a nonprofit advocating for food insecurity and reducing food waste. Currently, I am doing research in Dr. David Julian McClements Lab in the Food Science Department. This research started through the William Lee-SIP program and will continue next semester. Lastly, I volunteer at Not Bread Alone, a local soup kitchen in Amherst, Massachusetts. In the future, I hope to be an advocate for food justice and work directly with communities that are actively experiencing food insecurity!
