I have a proven track record modernizing struggling products and teams.Highlights from my career:Through alignment across engineering teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, and leveraging market analytics, persuaded FINRA to make a large innovation bet on modernizing an old, out of date and mostly manual integrity/compliance system to a new GenAI human-assisted review system leveraging Claude LLM models to perform NLP text extraction and risk factor assignment on unstructured data with feedback mechanisms, learning, and model ops in near real time. Also, through OKRs and clear goals, able to improve team velocity by 300% to allow them to build next-level systems.Through consolidation, product analysis, platform maturity, and working across many disparate data sources at world scale, scaled up two trust and safety platforms in Meta Integrity focused on rare yet highly impactful events by about 300% and 500% respectively. Invested in major technology innovations leveraging DSLs and computational languages across integrity events to increase investigator efficiency by 70% in complex and difficult online safety domains. Built Upside Business Travel from 4 to 60 engineers focusing on all parts of the engineering stack from product engineering and mobile through DevOps and security to deliver new product to customers continuously across web, Android and iOS. Also at Upside, lead early innovation in the AI in business travel space, integrating experimentation, ML sorts, ensembles, predictors, and early recommenders leveraging volumes of cloud-hosted travel data. Leveraging data for ML models from ancient travel systems never designed for model development was an interesting challenge in pipelines and data cleaning. Principal system architecture on the team that launched the Elder Scrolls Online MMORPG and implemented distributed queuing and consistent hashing to make it work at 1M persistent user scale across two continents at launch. That system is still in production 10 years later (albeit with fixes). Also, was one of the first to embrace AWS in 2011 to orchestrate the worldwide announcement launch of ESO without any physical infrastructure. We went from 0 to a global launch in 90 days.
