I started this business in high school and have continued to run it part-time. At events, our team assists with planning, set-up, clean-up, and serving so that hosts can enjoy their event. Pressed Apron simplifies the hosting process into four clear steps: pre-party planning (sending invitations, booking event vendors, developing a theme, etc.), pre-party set-up (decorating, food prep), serving, and management during the party (replenishing food and drinks, clearing dishes), and after-party clean-up. We have provided service for numerous events including weddings, prom and graduation parties, dinner parties, corporate events, and more. As an owner, I manage servers, scheduling, communication, budgets, accounting, invoicing, and marketing which includes our website and social media outreach. Most recently, I coordinated and executed 2 Youth Mental Wellness and Advocacy Leadership Conferences for high school students across Santa Barbara County, in collaboration with YouthWell and the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness. These events brought together students and adult allies across various schools, organizations, and community groups, to provide young people with an opportunity to learn how they can be changemakers in their community while maintaining their own mental health and wellbeing!

As a youth advocacy assistant, I oversaw 7 different Student Task Force (STF) high school chapters, taking on an additional 4 schools in the final months of my contract. In this role, I helped to mentor students in leadership skills and activism, fostering confidence and maturity among students, and enabling them to become effective voices for change and social justice within their communities.I led weekly leadership training meetings and maintained consistent communication with each of the chapters. Additionally, I provided support for advocacy activities on their campuses and in their communities. I organized, managed, and communicated with student leaders and faculty advisors. I also created and implemented educational materials, resources, and tools, while helping students prepare for on-campus advocacy events.

In order to expand and advance the scope of work Mindset & Milestones does, being a start-up company, I assisted with outreach to nonprofit organizations, after-school programs, and schools about partnership opportunities and implementing entrepreneurial curricula into their programming. I also worked with a team of students, to create webinars that provide new skillsets and information, such as how to be a powerful and effective public speaker, for their members (people who have been directly impacted by incarceration). As well as creating outreach materials and digital media that raise awareness around their mission - to organize members, both inside and outside of prisons, to advocate for their freedom and policy reform in the criminal legal system.

I was the co-founder and President of the Youth Wellness Connection Club at San Marcos High School, with around 50 students attending each week. I worked to expand this club to 4 other high school campuses, which are still running today! I also interned for 3 years with the Mental Wellness Center and was President of the original Youth Wellness Connection Council, which was made up of 60 students from 4 high schools across Santa Barbara. We met monthly to learn leadership and facilitation skills, gain mental health education and training, and develop our communication and active listening skills. We also created and ran campus campaigns to eliminate the stigma and normalize the conversation around mental health, educate on self-care, and what it means to be an upstander.

I co-led VBS, a children’s summer camp, for 2 summers. I facilitated all aspects of the camp, including building a website, creating online registration, and managing a budget to accommodate 50 campers, ages 4-9. I worked with the other counselors to prepare lessons, crafts, and activities.
